Dodge Charger Super Bee Returns

Back in 1968, Dodge created a buzz with its original Super Bee package. Offered on the Coronet coupe, the ‘Bee was offered with either a 383 or 426 HEMI V-8 underhood, and quickly built a reputation for offering high performance and a low sticker price. All good things come to an end, and the Super Bee was dropped for the 1972 model year, although it had brief revivals on modern Chargers in 2007, 2012, and 2023.

Well, add 2027 to that list, as the Super Bee is back yet again, and is creating equal amounts of buzz amongst Mopar enthusiasts.

Unveiled at the Woodward Dream Cruise, the 2027 Dodge Charger Super Bee is looking meaner than ever. Just in time for the Charger’s 60th anniversary.

The Super Bee gets its buzz from an uprated High Output SIXPACK 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged in-line six-cylinder engine. Dodge engineers cranked its output to a SAE-certified 600 horsepower. That’s a 50-horsepower increase over the 2026 Charger Scat Pack’s numbers. In fact, it is the most powerful powerplant to be placed underneath the hood of any Super Bee by over 100 horsepower!

This was accomplished by upgrading to a pair of Garrett 56mm turbochargers, adding a larger cooling system, and retuning the engine calibration. The Brembo brakes were upgraded to match the increased performance of the Super Bee. That included new 16-inch vented rotors, six-piston front and four-piston rear calipers

The Super Bee also incorporates a new body kit, which builds off Charger’s already muscular stance. The new panels help improve aerodynamics while improving airflow into the cooling system by 50%. On the chassis side, new dual-valve adaptive dampers help balance ride and handling for sharper cornering and excellent control, while wide 20-by-11-inch forged wheels are wrapped in sticky Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar 3 tires.

By dropping more horses into the H.O. SIXPACK, this 2027 Charger Super Bee was clocked with a 3.6-second 0-60 MPG sprint and an 11.8 second quarter-mile time.
